He’s also serving up sustainability with his eyewear brand, “Thiem View.” During an exclusive chat with EssentiallySports, the conversation naturally meandered toward Thiem’s eco-friendly endeavor. In response to the question about the genesis of “Thiem View,” the tennis champion opened up about his passion for eyewear.

He stated: “I always loved eyewear, always loved sunglasses.” Then, like a rally on the baseline, the idea sparked. Thiem revealed: “Two, three years ago, I started to buy more sustainable eyewear, and then the idea came. Why don’t we do some stuff ourselves?” This casual contemplation morphed into action as he explained the rapid progression. In his words: “From the idea came, and we started to talk, we had some meetings, and then it got really quick, you know. From the first meeting until the launch, it was just like 9 or 10 months, and here it is, you know.” In those few sentences, the layers of Thiem’s journey unfolded. His love for eyewear collided with a burgeoning awareness of sustainability. It catalyzed the inception of “Thiem View.”

As he stated for his brand: “I had the vision of combining my two passions – sunglasses and environmental protection – to create a sustainable product.” Thiem’s commitment shines through as he asserts: “This is how Thiem View was born, a sunglasses brand made entirely from 100% sustainable materials.”

The radiance of his vision extends beyond aesthetics because it’s also quite ecological. “Even 90% of the sunglasses are biodegradable after 180 days.” In these eco-conscious shades, he sees not just a fashion statement but a way to actively contribute to the preservation of nature.
