A disappointing update for Dominic Thiem fans! The ATP star has been trying hard to regain momentum since his recurring injuries have thrown cold water over his dreams. But his efforts to improve have not brought in satisfactory results and Thiem has announced the conclusion of his career. Shocking how he’s ready to do this at such an early age? Well, the tennis star has his own reasons to do so!

It all started back in 2o21 when Thiem decided to make a comeback in Mallorca. While he appeared to be determined as he started his run with a showdown against Adrian Mannarino, a scary wrist injury derailed plans.

Along with retiring from the grass-court tournament soon after hurting his wrist, the tennis star took some time off to heal from it. However, the terrible injury doesn’t seem to leave him alone, as he recently came forward to mention that the pain is back.

“Unfortunately, a little bit before the Challenger event, my wrist started to make some issues again,” he conveyed by posting a video on social media. While a majority of the fans received an idea about another saddening update following the message about uneasiness in his wrist, he finally came forward to express that he won’t be stretching his career for long.

“It is a very important, very sad, very beautiful message that this season will be my last one,” Thiem said by posting a video on his Instagram. The tennis star also made sure to tag the world-renowned sports manufacturer Adidas, a brand that he has been a part of for a long time. However, this particular injury wasn’t the only reason that Thiem decided to quit.

Along with that, he also added a psychological angle to his exit, saying, “The second reason is my inner feeling: I have been thinking about this decision for a very long time.” As he has decided to go off soon after touching the mark of 30, the decision somehow seems to be justified as he prioritizes his physical well-being over anything else.
