Austrian No. 1 Dominic Thiem has shared some encouraging photos on his official Instagram account, prompting a return to Tennis action. Thiem, who has been sidelined for nearly nine months now with a wrist injury, recently uploaded his practice video and photo on his Instagram account.
The Insta-story was certainly an encouraging sign for his fans as he was moving swiftly while practicing strong forehand shots. Though the video was of shorter duration, some glimpses of the Austrian Tennis star were sufficient to ensure his well-being.

Dominic Thiem targeting the Clay season for the return
Out of action since Mallorca Championship 2021, Dominic earlier planned his comeback at the start of the 2022 season. However, the recovery process took more time than expected. As a result, after consulting with his doctors and his team, he had to postpone his return date.
Ever so connected with his fans, Dominic Thiem shared his status and also announced his withdrawal from tournaments down-under over a letter on Twitter. He wrote, “I feel I am yet not ready to compete at the highest level, it’s disappointing not to take part this year, but I need to continue my preparations for upcoming season”

He was in touch with the tennis fans and kept on updating his fitness. Also, he answered some of the fans’ queries via social media. He shared his gym activities, Holidays photos, and now Practice session video.
The imminent return is getting closer
Though Dominic Thiem was out of action since June 2021, many followers hoped he would return just in time at the “Sunshine-Doubles”, where he had some very successful outings in the past. But former World No. 3 cautiously avoided the hurried come-back and started practicing on a clay court in Spain, as seen in the photo.

Dominic Thiem said about his Indian Wells participation, “I would have loved to play in the [United] States and I am really sorry for my fans. Last time I played in Indian Wells I won the tournament. So I love to play in the States and I can’t wait to be back soon.”

With clay season just around the corner, Thiem will dearly hope to make a comeback soon on the ATP tour. Thiem had a remarkable 2020, winning the 2020 US Open champion and was runner-up at the Australian Open and Nitto ATP Finals as well.
