While there might be a stark contrast in the seasons of Novak Djokovic in 2023 and 2024, his French Open campaigns have gone one major similarity. Despite form not being on his side, the World Number 1 has received a major boost to his chances at the clay-court Grand Slam tournament. Recently, the draw for the tournament in Paris was released and Djokovic has been handed a fairly easy draw, similar to the one last year, where he went on to win the tournament. As a result, fans took to social media to give their opinions on this.

The Serb will face local star, Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the opening round of the tournament. Further, a potential meeting with Lorenzo Musetti will await him in the third round. The Italian star, seeded 30th, is the maiden seeded player in Djokovic’s path.

With the kind of draw provided to the Serb, many fans thought that it was a golden opportunity for him to get his campaign back on track. On this front, one fan said, “What an unbelievably easy draw….”

On the other hand, one of the fans had a hilarious reaction to Djokovic’s easy draw, saying, “Easy semi road, he doesn’t even have to be fit to reach the final.” While injuries have not been his major concern in 2024, the Serb’s health issues have been obstacles in one way or another.

One fan echoed the sentiment that the 24-time Grand Slam champion will breeze through to the last 4. The comment read, “Cakewalk to the semis even though he’s rubbish this year.”

Meanwhile, one Twitter user made an honest prediction about Djokovic’s chances in the tournament, considering his not-so-good form lately. The comment read, “Should be pretty easy. Till QF, then the winner of ruud nole match will be in the final.” Their head-to-head stats would favor Nole with 5 wins in 6 meetings, but then again, Ruud won in the Monte-Carlo semis and 2024 has not been kind to the Serb.

On the contrary, one fan was confident about Djokovic breezing through, saying, “He will probably run through all of them with ease. He is still one of the top 3 players in the world.” In the midst of naysayers, a refreshing perspective in support of the World No. 1!

Meanwhile, Djokovic has struggled on the court this year and is yet to win a title. Despite this fact, his ex-coach, Marian Vajda, made a bold prediction for the Serb’s Roland Garros chances.

Marian Vajda warns the opponents of Novak Djokovic ahead of the French Open

There is no chance of taking things for granted when you face a player like Novak Djokovic, even if he’s in poor form. A big match player, the Serb can bring out his best in big events like the French Open. As a result, his former coach, Vajda, gave a warning to Djokovic’s opponents.

He said, “The greatest motivation for him is the Slams and the Olympics. So he has to find the time to prepare, to train well, but he can’t put the same focus on the other tournaments as well.”

Further, Vajda added, “The real question, I think, is whether this new method will still succeed in making him win. But Novak knows how to do it, he’s very smart and none of the new top players have his experience, simply because of his age.”

From Djokovic’s point of view, he would look to put his recent disappointments behind him and aim for a fresh start as he looks to defend his French Open title. Can anyone stop Djokovic from winning a record 25th major title at this year’s French Open? Let us know your views in the comments below.
