After defeating world number 3 Alexander Zverev, Nadal addressed the media. And the most significant question that he replied to was about his future.

Is this the last Roland Garros for Rafael Nadal?

It’s not an unknown fact that the 35-year-old is playing the tournament in pain. Notably, the Spaniard is suffering from Müller-Weiss syndrome, a degenerative bone disease that affects his left foot. Nadal missed out on most of the 2021 season because of the same issue and is still struggling with it.

When asked about his future after the French Open, he expressed his desire to be back in Paris next year. But was also concerned about the issue with his foot.

He said,“I don’t know. I would like to give a clearer answer, but for the moment, I don’t know. There is one thing clear, it is that I would like to come back here a lot to Roland-Garros for a few years, but I have a problem with one foot that does not allow me to train a lot.”
