In a recent interview, Willy Masur, one of the legends of the game came ahead to talk about Novak Djokovic and his journey to become one of the greatest of the game. Surprised by the dominance that he displays on the courts, Masur expressed a shocker and said that even he does not know how to stop him.

He also added that his stats are something that speaks up for him. Winning 24 grand slam titles and having the hunger to do more is no joke. Masur further reflected on the head-to-head stats among the Big 3 while citing that he has a better ratio among his rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

However, there’s one factor that sets Djokovic apart. That is his proficiency in every tennis stroke. While his backhand has always been formidable, he has relentlessly worked on his forehand. His serve which was once a vulnerability, has evolved into a weapon.

“The greatest player ever. I literally do not know how you stop the guy. When you look at players, most of them do a few things really well but they’ve also got holes that you can exploit or they’ve got days where they don’t mentally have the resolve,” Masur said.

“He’s always had an amazing backhand, but his forehand is now world-class because he’s worked on it. Physically, he’s got himself to an awesome level of speed, agility and endurance. And then he’s got this mindset where the more you push him and the harder you poke him, the better he gets,” he further added.

Thus, over the years, Novak Djokovic has perfected himself to become the best in the world. Not only do the records speak up for him but also the legends of the game have a huge admiration for the Serbian star.
