The French Open is in full swing and both the players and fans from around the world have started to enjoy the action-packed madness. However, sometimes the slightest of mishaps can ruin the fun for the fans. The same happened recently with Novak Djokovic‘s match also. Playing his first-round match against Pierre Hugues Herbert, the match was a pure joy to watch with both the players giving their everything. However, what spoiled the mood of every tennis fan was John McEnroe‘s commentary.
John McEnroe, who has partnered up with Eurosport is the lead commentator for the French Open. However, some serious blunders got noticed by the fans and he was immediately under the radar. The fans lashed at him as he was struggling to pronounce the names of the players properly.
One fan came ahead and suggested John McEnroe to shut up after his commentary did not soothe the fan. “John McEnroe needs to kindly shut the f*ck up,” said the fan who was clearly disappointed with the former American tennis pro.

Another fan then came ahead and requested McEnroe to kindly pronounce the names properly. While the American legend repeatedly said ‘Humbert’, the fan suggested that he was Herbert and not Humbert.
“I am once again requesting John McEnroe learns how to pronounce the names of the players whose matches he’s commentating. Ugo Humbert is a different player from Pierre-Hugues Herbert but I don’t think McEnroe knows that based on the fact he keeps saying “Humbert” for “Herbert”,” said the fan in a very frustrating tone.

This fan then came ahead and suggested that what MccEnroe was doing was very disrespectful as he should have taken the names of the players properly. “Someone remind @JohnMcEnroe it’s Herbert playing, not Humbert. Quite disrespectful & ridiculous he keeps calling him Humbert.”

This fan then came and suggested that John McEnroe’s commentary was so boring that he had to turn the sound off as he could not bear it.” @eurosport john McEnroe commentating … so boring listening to his drivel… have had to turn the sound off …”

Last, but not least, this fan also shared his frustration and suggested John McEnroe to talk less during his commentary so that they could enjoy tennis. “Can you please talk less, so we can watch tennis? @JohnMcEnroe,“ said the fan out of pure frustration.

Thus, while the fans were eager to watch Djokovic back in action, their fun was apparently spoiled by John McEnroe. However, during his time voicing his opinion on the match, he echoed Coco Gauff‘s coach, Brad Gilbert‘s sentiments.

During the match, there were multiple instances when Pierre-Hugues Herbert was tossing the ball up in the air but instead of serving, he was just catching it again to give yet another try. McEnroe certainly did not like it and made sure to express his feelings up on the same.
He suggested that a player wastes some time during this and this is often overlooked. “You got 4 seconds left, toss the ball, catch it, and they don’t call you on it! I don’t get it!” said McEnroe.

Just a few days back, Brad Gilbert also offered his thoughts on the same thing while suggesting that this thing should not be allowed at all. “You have heard me say this so many times, catching your own ball toss on serve should not be allowed.”
you have heard me say this so many times, catching your on ball toss on serv is should not be allowed, how can u catch 3 tosses in arow and not at least get time violation is beyond ridiculous, also allowing 45 catches in a match and nothing in rules is mind boggling and such…
