In the last year, a lot of things have changed, for the German tennis player Boris Becker, after his seven-month prison stint. But as a result, he is currently facing a Wimbledon ban and may not appear at the Grand Slam competition this year. The six-time Grand Slam champion recently discussed his ban. And revealed whether there was any chance he might return this year.

On the one hand, Wimbledon banned one of the famous commentators from the BBC desk. On the other, there are talks that the 20-time Grand Slam champion, Roger Federer, might be seen taking up the empty spot at the BBC commentary box, making his debut as a commentator.

Boris Becker opens up about his Wimbledon ban?

The former No. 1 tennis player in the world from Germany is currently subject to a travel ban. And is not permitted to travel to the UK for any professional obligations. The six-time Grand Slam champion recently discussed his ability to attend Wimbledon in the commentary box during an appearance on the podcast show Amanpour.

He said, “I miss London I miss Wimbledon particular, the best tennis club in the world. And my license goes until 24th October. I don’t think I will be entering before that, but look from all the good and the bad. I would be foolish not to surround myself with a different group.”?

However, Sue Barker and Becker both will not be seen at Wimbledon this year. And speculations are going on that the swiss maestro will enter as a commentator in a different capacity in place of these two famous commentators. Nevertheless, just a few days ago, the German tennis player revealed that he was in talks with the BBC bosses over his return to the commentary box.

In an interview with The Telegraph, a few days ago, the 55-year-old former tennis player discussed how he is preparing to reestablish his brand and name in the tennis world with the role he left a year ago.

However, after being released early in December, the three-time Wimbledon champion resumed his duties with Eurosport. And was hoping to return to the BBC too. But things didn’t go the way they were planned. The German tennis player is still on his travel ban and will not be traveling to the UK for Wimbledon or any other tournament for now.
