After his win against Grigor Dimitrov in the Paris Masters final, Djokovic was all smiles when he gave the post-match interview. The Serbian answered every question he was asked, but the moment turned a bit serious when he talked about the status of his records. There, after clinching what was his 40th Masters title, the reigning World No. 1 indirectly commented on the month-old ‘frustrated’ jibe launched by his biggest rival.
Djokovic said, “I’m going for all possible records, all that I can break. I’ve never had a problem saying that. And that’s why people don’t like me. I didn’t pretend like some people.. to say that it’s not my goal, and then to behave differently after… I always tried to be in line with what I believe.”
The 24-time Grand Slam winner further said that as far as the number of ATP titles is concerned, anything is possible. Djokovic is aiming to beat it and is only 12 titles away from the top with a few healthy years of tennis still left. He also tries to enjoy the small moments which are worth double to him now. The Djoker stated, “When you consider the stage of my life & career that I am in, & to win such a big tournament. Although it may seem like a routine to people, every win at the Masters & Grand Slam levels really means so much to me.”
Novak Djokovic says he’s never had a problem saying he’s trying to break all the records:

Interviewing with Spanish TV Station Movistar+, Rafa talked about Djokovic and the record-breaking run he has been on of late in the season. During this segment, he also stated that he doesn’t feel frustrated at not being able to create such feats because he has done everything possible in his capacity. He also said that it is likely a much bigger frustration for the Djoker, as he likely feels more intensely about this particular aspect of the sport.
After his words sent shockwaves in the media, Djokovic also came out stating that he respected Nadal and he was entitled to his own opinions. He disagreed with his statement and said that he would keep his comments to himself so as to not create further drama in the situation.
