Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic is in brilliant form. The 35-year-old continued his fantastic run on the tour. He defeated Sebastian Korda to clinch his first ATP title of the year. While the atmosphere was tense in the final, Djokovic held his nerve. At one point, the Serb was on the verge of losing the match as he trailed by a set and was behind in the second set as well.
At this point of time, Djokovic did something bizarre to his team. The 21-time Grand Slam champion apologized for the same later. Here’s what happened.

After losing the first set 6-7, Djokovic was under immense pressure in the second set as well. The 35-year-old was trailing and was on the verge of defeat. However, the 35-year-old played bravely and saved a championship point to take the second set.
After that, the Serb seemingly attempted to send his support staff out. Later, Djokovic’s brother was also present there. As they left, Djokovic took the decider set 6-4 to clinch his 92nd ATP title. In the post-match presentation, the 35-year-old was full of praise for his opponent and admitted that he dominated most part of the match. Further, the Serb also apologized to his team for sending them out.
“I’d like to thank my team for handling me, for tolerating me in good and bad times today,” Djokovic said, as per Express.UK. Further, the 21-time Grand Slam champion added, “I’m sure they didn’t have such a blast with me going back and forth with them, but I appreciate them being here.”
With this win, Djokovic announced himself before the Australian Open. After missing out last year because of controversial deportation, the Serb looks set for his favorite Slam.

Djokovic to miss Indian wells and Miami Open
As Djokovic stands persistently with his belief against covid-19 vaccination, he is all set to miss more tournaments. The 35-year-old will miss the Indian Wells and Miami Open later this year in the US. After the US government intended covid-19 related travel restrictions till April 10th, Djokovic will miss the tournaments for two years straight in a row.

While the Serb said that he can do nothing about it, fans called him out for his stern stand resulting in his absence from important tournaments.
