Mind and Body are the only true wealth for anyone, especially an athlete. The 4-time ATP winner, Holger Rune, recently came out of his slumber at the China Open. Rune beat his Canadian opponent marked at World’s No. 15, Felix Auger-Aliassime. Will this be a one hit wonder by Rune or is he back in the game for good?
The 20-year-old has been inactive since his back injury in August. Beating Aliassime in the China Open is his first win since Wimbledon. It seems like his losing streak made him push harder for a much needed victory. Rune described his feelings post match, during which he got a little emotional.
Holger Rune admits he was in a bad form

Rune secured his spot in the last 16 at the China Open, but he still has a long way to go. Although this win cannot be marked as his comeback, it sure is a great achievement to boost his morale.
“It felt good. I’ve had a tough period, both with my body and match circumstances, so I’m just happy to be back feeling good. Feeling mentally well on and off the court. I’m just super happy with my level today”
Rune explained that his body was not up to snuff and even the matches were not in his favor. However, he is excited to be back in a better state. He specified that even his mental health is in a much better condition than before.
Holger Rune has shown the potential to become a champion many times in the past. He switched to being a pro when has just 16. However, this recent slumber did put a comma in his career.
Is this the return of Rune?
Rune went on to describe that during the match, he didn’t feel anything was wrong in his body. Even though he doesn’t mind some muscle soreness, he did express his concern about health issues. Rune is still only 20 years of age, so his concern is quite reasonable.

“I was feeling very good. I didn’t feel anything in my body. This is good. I don’t mind muscle soreness, but I’m too young to have these kinds of problems, so it’s good to feel good out there.” said Rune.
Holger, taking care of his body and coming back with a win, shows his passion for the sport, as he claims:
“I’m feeling healthy, taking care of my body and I’m super happy to play without pain and just enjoy myself.”

Be it a bad form or an injury, a professional athlete has to face a lot in order to make their mark in the game. Holger Rune seems to be getting back on track, but whether he can keep on with it or not is the right question to ask.
