Fans love it when they spot someone special cheering for their favourite player from the stands. With multiple stars in a romantic relationship on tour, Nick Kyrgios-Costeen Hatzi, Tommy Paul-Paige Lorenze, Taylor Fritz-Morgan Riddle, the name Thanasi Kokkinakis, surely rings a bell for anyone acquainted with the ‘hot’ Aussie’s action. Having landed in Melbourne for the season-opening Slam, many have been wondering about his relationship status.

Kokkinakis, who debuted publicly with Hannah Dal Sasso at Glamour on the Grid party, the launch party for the Australian Grand Prix in March 2023, is likely single as of now. Reports emerged in September last year, indicating that he split from model and influencer GF after one and a half years. This is after she refused to be called a “WAG”, per news.com.au.

“I know in footy there are so many girlfriends and they get called WAGs, but in Tennis, there aren’t many and you never really see someone called that. I like having my own name and not being someone else’s partner,” said Dal Sasso in an interview.

Social media activity suggested a breakup for the Australian pair, who unfollowed each other on Instagram. The challenges of a long-distance relationship, exacerbated by Kokkinakis’ demanding tennis schedule, may have contributed to the separation. For now, the pair hasn’t officially dropped a confirmation on their split.

Fast forward to the 2025 Australian Open, Dal Sasso was seen hanging out in a private box. This begs the question, why did she make an appearance if she’s done with the Aussie player?

Dal Sasso, a successful businesswoman who operates an online hire company, Styled By Mim, marked her presence on the AO grounds on account of repping cute labels and as a guest for a clothing brand. The Deakin University alumni previously worked with Aussie brands like Bec + Bridge and Showpo.

Proud of Kokkinakis’ efforts to improve his resume on the tour, the Aussie influencer expressed missing him despite meeting him a month ago during a conversation in September 2024. “We just had a nice month together and I already miss him – long distance is really hard. Thanasi Kokkinakis is dedicated to his Tennis and he’s putting everything into it and I’m so proud of him.”

For now, the 2022 Australian Open doubles champion is focused on his on-court commitments in Melbourne. After outclassing Roman Safiullin in the opening round, he now squares off against 15th seed Briton Jack Draper at John Cain Arena.
