Earlier this month, Netflix released the second season of its tennis docuseries, Break Point. The fourth episode of the series features an explosive episode between Medvedev and Zverev. The incident was about their 2023 Monte Carlo Masters clash in which Medvedev made a resounding comeback to win it.
However, Zverev wasn’t pleased with Medvedev’s antics during that match. While the German was serving in the second set, Medvedev pulled out a net pole in frustration. Further, he even ran off for a toilet break shortly before a Zverev service game.
In that episode, Zverev was heard saying, “But at the same time, I do believe in karma.” His message was indicative that he didn’t forget about Medvedev’s controversial moment and felt that he would be punished for his act.

That wasn’t the case during the semifinal match today between them. After Medvedev’s win, he was apparently caught by the camera shouting something toward his box. Many speculated that the word might have been ‘karma.’
I genuinely wonder if Daniil wanting to yell “KARMA” at the end of that provided just a liiiitttttle extra fire coming down the stretch.

Further, during the post-match press conference, he cleared the rumors of whether he used the word karma. He said, “No, no, no, it was not it. I tried to not go on Twitter but I went on Twitter and I saw it all over the place. I was like, Oh, my God.”
In the Break Point’s fourth episode, Zverev expressed his true feelings on Medvedev’s antics during their Monte Carlo clash. Although the German star felt that he was one of the best players in the world, his behavior could let him down.

Zverev thinks Medvedev can be frustrating at times
Medvedev came back from the brink of defeat to sneak out a win against Zverev in the round-of-16 clash at the 2023 Monte Carlo Masters. However, their match wasn’t short of drama.
Speaking about his opponent, Zverev said, “Look, Medvedev is one of the best players in the world, but I also think that a lot of things that Medvedev does are frustrating at times. He’s someone who knows how to play with the head of the opponent. I think there are a lot of unfair things happening in the game that he uses quite well to his advantage.”
