In winning the China Open, the route for Sinner was certainly not easy. He had to defeat the French Open 2023 champion Carlos Alcaraz to do it. But that is not what caught the attention of the fans. It was that Sinner was able to defeat Daniil for the first time in the hasty of tennis. Daniil and Jannik have faced each other on the court several times, but it was only this time that he was able to defeat him.

But even after defeating him, he did not let his cheeky side slide and brought out his humor game in his winning speech. He said, “First of all Daniil, thanks for letting me win 1 match. 3rd time lucky. Most importantly, thanks for making me a better player. We’ve been practicing a lot for trying to beat you.”
He very candidly admitted that it was his aim to defeat Daniil as he had not been able to do so in the past. Before this match, Sinner has lost 7 times to Medvedev so this win was especially crucial. And now the future seems to be very bright for the China Open champ.

High hopes for Sinner for the coming year 2024
With the tournament season starting again with the Australian Open in 2024, tennis fans now have high hopes for Sinner as he emerged victorious from this tournament. Not only did he get his first win over Daniil, but was also able to defeat Carlos which in itself was a huge deal as Carlos was the one who won the French Open. Sinner now has 3 titles overall including the China Open, the ATP Master 1000 in Canada, and also Montpellier Open in 2023.

He was also a finalist in the ATP Masters 1000 in Miami, and Rotterdam Open too. So now, just at 22 years old, Sinner has the potential to rule the Australian Open as well as many more upcoming tournaments.
