Rafael Nadal, in a recent interview, opened up about how his first child has helped him in his ongoing recovery journey. Nadal, who has been out of the court for most of the time this year revealed how being parents has helped him.

The former world number 1, who caused havoc on the tennis courts revealed that all of his achievements would have faded away without the joy of parenthood. The burden of recovery and pain is a part of an athlete’s life that Nadal has always known. However, the presence of his child has undoubtedly had an impact, offering a different kind of motivation to him.

“I have always taken things well. But in that sense, of course, having a child at home who is also the first is always special because, of course, it makes you happy in many moments. But I think that without it I would have been fine too, because I have accepted and tolerated it well throughout my life. But without a doubt, it helps and gives me happiness,” said Nadal in the interview.

Thus, Nadal, who is not only a professional tennis player but also a father has been open when it comes to talking about their first child who helps him with recovery amidst the never-ending pain.
