But that hasn’t stopped the 20-time major winner from congratulating Djokovic for his record-breaking 23rd grand slam victory at this year’s French Open.

When asked about the Serb’s monumental achievement, he said, “I thought what Novak did is incredible… Novak pushed it to 23 and it looks like he’s going to keep on doing that for a long time still to come which is great and I wish him all the best… It’s not easy, and I thought it was an amazing victory. So I couldn’t have been more happy for him.”

However, it wasn’t long ago when Novak Djokovic opened up about the equation he shared with Federer throughout their careers. According to the Serb, the two ‘have never been close’, but maintain a cordial relationship, nonetheless.
