Nick Kyrgios made headlines in the previous season when he secured a runner-up finish at arguably the most prestigious Grand Slam event in London. After tasting a major breakthrough in the tournament, the Aussie tennis star also achieved the world No. 13 ranking on the men’s tour.

On top of all this, the ‘bad boy of tennis’ has amassed seven ATP singles titles while becoming one of the leading figures in the tennis circuit. However, despite gaining a lot of popularity for his on-court exploits, the former Wimbledon Championship finalist recently brought to light a major regret during a candid conversation.

Some of the young ATP sensations, like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, are making a lot of strides on the court. After experiencing their respective breakthroughs, the tennis youngsters have quickly established themselves in the top five rankings. Given their remarkable triumphs and success, it is clear to say that the next generation has arrived on the men’s tour.

However, with tennis prodigies now taking charge of the circuit, Nick Kyrgios is having a big ‘Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal’ regret. In a candid conversation with the Tennis Channel, the Aussie said, “I mean, it just shows the depth of players, I guess with Novak even declining, which is not really declining. But you got Alcaraz and all these young guys coming up and contending.”

Kyrgios added, “I wish I could turn back the clock maybe ten years and I wish I was coming up during this time so that I didn’t have to deal with prime Federer and Nadal. That would have been nice.”

The Aussie’s bold assertions regarding the two tennis greats are quite justified given his H2H record against Federer and Nadal.
