Americans always love to back their local players in tennis. Even in individual sports where nationalism isn’t prevalent, it only takes one tennis player to unite the entire nation. We have seen the likes of Venus and Serena Williams do it for years. Before them, we had the yesteryear legends, Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi. In the absence of big names, Christopher Eubanks has taken the spotlight.
Eubanks’ dream run continues at Wimbledon as he pushed Daniil Medvedev to the brink of defeat in the quarterfinals. He started as a heavy underdog but the American has managed to force a decider against the Russian. In the process, Eubanks has united all of America to come forward and support his talent.
