In a recent revelation, Ben Rothenberg suggested that he is feeling unsure about Rafael Nadal’s return to the game. They usually know Nadal as someone who loves winning and avoids playing when he’s not confident. But now, they’re not sure why he’s making a comeback.

He suggested that he watched videos of Nadal’s return and felt a bit puzzled. Ben noticed Nadal didn’t seem too happy or excited. Instead, he looked serious and a bit gloomy. This made him wonder if Nadal’s return is because he truly believes he can still win, or if it’s more of a way to say goodbye to the game.

“The thing about Rafa is being consistent. He doesn’t like to play when he doesn’t think he can win. Right? So he if he’s coming back, it must mean he feels good. Honestly, body language wise, tone wise, his comeback videos were not like the most happy seeming, he seemed kind of grim in them. So maybe I’m wondering if he is doing this just as a pure like farewell. Like I have to drive myself back out there or if he actually believes I don’t know yet. I’m getting mixed signals from him on that,” said Ben while shedding light on why he doubts Nadal’s return to the game.

Thus, the comments made by the iconic journalist Ben Rothenberg suggest that the return of the Spanish giant would not be the same as his fans are expecting from him. While Nadal looks to mark the end of his career on a perfect note, it would now be interesting to see what happens when the legend of the game comes out to play next year.

Nadal gives his verdict just days before his much-awaited comeback

The tennis fans were thrilled when they got to know that the Spanish legend is coming back to the sport. However, just days ahead of his comeback, he did not sound confident while shedding light on his plans this year. In the interview, he suggested that this year might be his last. He further added that there are chances that he might make it to the end while there are chances that he may not. However, he further added that a probability also stands that none of the things happen.

“It is a reality, there are many chances that it will be my last year, without any doubt. There are chances that it may only be half a year. There are possibilities that it may be a full year. There are possibilities that we may not be able to reach all that. These are things that right now I do not have the capacity to be able to answer,” said Nadal in the interview.
