As the 2023 tennis season nears its end, did you feel something missing this year? Yes, you are right. It has been months since we’ve seen Rafael Nadal in action on the tennis court. He last played at the Australian Open earlier this year, where his stint didn’t last long. Subsequently, he has been a victim of injuries that have kept him away from tennis.

As the Spaniard aims to make a comeback, his legendary former compatriot, Alex Corretja, revealed his impact on the tennis world. Corretja played alongside Nadal during the latter stages of his tennis career. Here’s what he said about his countryman.

Recently, Corretja was involved in an interview with Eurosport. During that conversation, the 49-year-old talked about Nadal’s potential comeback a few months down the line.

Opening up on this, Corretja revealed, “Hopefully, he’s going to announce he’s coming back. But I’m not expecting that before the middle of December, maybe because that would be pretty much the time that I believe that he will know if he is ready to start the season in Australia or not.”

Further, he added, “But if he does that before, that would be awesome. We are waiting for Rafa desperately.” Nadal is 37 and nearing the end of his illustrious career. However, before he calls it quits, the Spaniard wants to have one last laugh.
