There is no doubt that the American tennis star,?Christopher Eubanks has experienced a major breakthrough this season given his current standing in the top 40 rankings. He rose to prominence in the men’s circuit after clinching the Mallorca Open by outclassing some of the players of high caliber. Afterward, the 27-year-old player also had a remarkable run at the recently concluded British Slam, where he reached the quarterfinal round.

However, prior to his breakthrough run, things were quite different for the ATP player as he was left out of the forthcoming Atlanta Open. Speaking about his snub, the ATP 250 tournament director has now come forward to issue a clarification on how things have changed for the currently ranked world No. 31 player.

The tournament director discussed Christopher Eubanks’ rise to prominence in the men’s circuit

Atlanta Open Director, Peter Lebdevs was recently featured in a podcast, in which he revealed why the American tennis star was initially snubbed in the draw. He said that Christopher Eubanks was at the 77 spot of the ATP rankings back then when the initial draw was released. However, a lot of fans were later baffled by his snub when they witnessed his remarkable triumph at the Mallorca Open.

Lebdevs said, “But then after that field was announced, everybody was kind of like, “oh, you know, Chris Eubank here, he’ll get in no big deal”. Well, Chris, that week goes and wins Mallorca. So all of a sudden now a little bit of a bubble starts and oh Chris Eubanks is Chris gonna play the Atlanta open, you know, and two questions get asked and then it’s Chris has his two weeks at Wimbledon.”

On top of his triumph at the Mallorca Open, the 27-year-old player also had a breakthrough run at Wimbledon. Due to the same, he has now secured a place in the forthcoming ATP 250 hard court tournament.

Lebdevs has confirmed the American tennis star’s participation in the tournament

During the podcast show, the tournament director also confirmed Christopher Eubanks’s spot in the recently released draw of the Atlanta Open. Lebdevs said, “All of a sudden it’s “Chris Eubanks! Peter, why is he not in the event?” Blah, blah. You know, and so Chris grew right after we announced the field. But now that he’s in look, it’s fantastic for us. We’re excited to have him.”

The tournament director has made it clear that he is quite excited to witness the currently ranked world No. 31 player on the hard courts of the event.
