He said, “That question you have to ask him when he comes very soon. I don’t think so. No, no, he’s planning to play the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. (Laughter.) When is this, 2028? You know what’s going in his head. It’s like 24 hours something to achieve. So I don’t think so. (and him snubbing retirement rumors confidently).”
Ivanovic claimed that aside from winning Grand Slam events and breaking records on the court, Djokovic has a 5-year plan. He said that Djokovic wants to be a part of the Olympics. It remains to be seen whether he was joking about it, or was actually serious. However, a few days ago, Djokovic revealed the exact situation when he would take a step back from the tennis world and walk towards his retirement.

When Novak Djokovic made a retirement disclosure
After scoring a spectacular win against Ben Shelton in the US Open semis, Djokovic shared his thoughts on his future in the sport. Carrying a smile, he highlighted that his words might sound arrogant, but he was not considering retirement for now. He added that with the work and dedication he puts in, age is just a number. However, he added that he might consider retirement when the young guys start beating him in Grand Slam tournaments.
“I feel good physically. I’ve been as good as I’ve been in years & years. Age is just a number. I don’t want to even consider leaving tennis or thinking about an end if I’m still at the top of the game. I’ll probably consider doing that if I get my ass kicked by young guys in Grand Slams in the years to come,” he said.
