Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic have each held the record for the most Grand Slam titles at some point in their careers. Federer was the first to reach the milestone of 20 Grand Slam titles. However, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have since overtaken Roger’s 20 titles by winning 2 & 3 Grand slams, respectively. Tennis journalist, Jose Morgado shared a tweet about Federer’s comments in one of the interviews about the same.
He mentions, “I remember when I came on tour, and Pete Sampras reached 14 we thought ‘Okay, that one is going to stay forever’. Then I went to 15, I eventually ended up at 17, and then we pushed each other to 20 – I don’t remember who was first.“

The fact that Federer does not remember who reached the 20-title mark first showcases the humility and respect that the three players have for each other. They have all been part of an extraordinary era of tennis, pushing each other to new heights and constantly setting new records.
The Big-3 have dominated the tennis landscape, sharing 65 Grand Slam titles between them and leaving little room for other players to make their mark.
