2 Days After Carlos Alcaraz’s Honest Novak Djokovic Admission, Jimmy Connors Signals the Alarm Bells to Sound an Important Warning – ‘Gotta Be Careful..’

The fierce encounters between the ATP superstars, particularly during the Grand Slam events, have led to the inception of an unmatched rivalry on the tour. Now that the Serbian tennis legend has taken the top spot in the rankings, the 20-year-old is eager to reclaim his throne, according to his recent disclosures.

While emphasizing his rivalry with the ‘Djoker,’ the Spaniard recently revealed how he constantly occupies his mind during his practice sessions. Alcaraz’s honest confessions about his adversary, however, have forced the American tennis veteran to issue a major warning to the young ATP sensation.

In his podcast show ‘Advantage Connors’, Jimmy Connors issued his candid take on the 2-time singles Grand Slam champion’s admission about Novak Djokovic. Meanwhile, the Hall of Famer made it clear that he believes Alcaraz’s Wimbledon Championship victory against the Serb has been kind of a “thorn” in his side.

Connors said, “And he says, yeah, just you know, ‘Every time I go out and practice, every time I play, I’m thinking about him,’ you know, and my first thought about that is, you know, I get that, you know, he’s, even though Alcaraz beat him at Wimbledon has been kind of a thorn in his side a little bit.”

However, the American former world No. 1 also didn’t hold himself back from issuing a serious warning to the young tennis star as he reminded him of his other opponents. Connors added, “But you know, you gotta be careful doing that, because then you’re preparing for only one guy. And I understand also that you think, well, if I if I’m playing good enough to beat that guy, I’ll be able to beat everybody else too.”

In the process, the 8-time singles Grand Slam champion also brought up another young ATP sensation and Alcaraz’s formidable adversary on the tour.

Connors on how Alcaraz needs to look out for his fierce rival’s prowess

In addition to the ‘Djoker,’ the former tennis ace claimed that Alcaraz should be wary of other formidable opponents. During the podcast show, Connors reminded the Spanaird of another young tennis star, Jannik Sinner who recently defeated him at the semifinals of the China Open.

He said, “But that’s not really true, because other guys have different games, as he saw with Sinner, and the way he plays is, is different than the way Novak plays, it’s different than Alcaraz or Medvedev.”

Connors asserted that the young Italian tennis sensation has a game style and technique that is quite different from other top ATP players like Alcaraz, Medvedev, and Djokovic.
