The 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal has been out of action since the Australian Open earlier this year. The Spaniard has now declared his intention to skip the French Open. However, after hearing about this choice, there are many differing views on whether the French Open main draw is a fantastic opportunity for other players to establish themselves or if it will still be the same as it was.
Similarly, John McEnroe and Patrick McEnroe, two tennis legends, have expressed their polar opposite opinions on the upcoming French Open champion. And expressed whether the tournament will alter the flow for other players or will remain unchanged.

Following the 36-year-old tennis player’s shocking revelation, the seven-time Grand Slam champion talked in an interview with Eurosport about how the Spaniard’s absence from the tournament would give other tennis players a huge opportunity. McEnroe highlighted the fact that, “door more open for any player that wants to win this tournament”.
Along with that, he also addressed how this might be the perfect opportunity for the Serbian tennis legend, Novak Djokovic, to claim his 23rd Grand Slam title at the clay-court tournament. “It’s much more open; you have Novak, who’s won it twice, and then it becomes much more wide open after that. So, from that standpoint, I think it’s exciting. The ideal would have been if Rafa was still playing at a very high level and someone was good enough to beat him when he’s playing great,” he added.

On the other hand, his brother held the exact opposite view, arguing that the tournament will be the same without the Spaniard.
