Novak Djokovic‘s fierce side is something that the tennis community has always known him for. In approximately 21 years of his professional career, the legend has not only earned immense fame and glory but has also created a dominant image that his opponents are generally wary of. But is it the real him? Well, for his fans and compatriots, the Serbian tennis great also has a cheeky side, which he either unveils on his social media posts, or during twisted questions in interviews. A similar incident unfolded after his showdown against Janis Xilas at the Davis Cup.
Novak Djokovic once again proved why he is still at the top of his game as he moved past the Greek player Janis Xilas in just 40 odd minutes at the Davis Cup. The Serbian great won the match with a commendable 6-0, 6-1 scoreline, keeping his dominance intact right from the initial moments of the match. However, the match looked so one-sided that some spectators wondered if Djokovic deliberately conceded the single game that Xilas won. One of the reporters in the press conference even asked that question to the Serb.

When asked whether he let his opponent take that game, Djokovic decided to unleash his usual sense of humor. “I can’t answer anything, I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he joked with a smile. The 37-year-old, however, seemed to like the idea of playing around and therefore decided to take it forward. “Towards the end, it was strange, but I’m not going to tell you if I gave up or not, he won the game with a beautiful ace and he was happy,” he added.
Djokovic’s witty side, while answering a tricky question, reminded everyone why he is not just a champion on the court, but also a beloved figure off it. However, this wasn’t the only moment when fans witnessed the quirky side of Djokovic.
