The toddler recently celebrated his birthday on October 7 and has regularly attended Nadal’s farewell matches this year. During the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh, Nadal faced Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic for the final time. Besides the Spanish legend’s aura, junior Rafa stole the show. He was seen sitting courtside in his mother Maria Francisca Perello’s arms and was clapping enthusiastically for his father’s winners. This showed a clear appreciation for the game despite his young age.

Rafael Nadal announced his retirement from professional tennis which will mark the end of a legendary career. The 38-year-old legend won 22 Grand Slam titles including a record-breaking 14 French Opens. His decision was unveiled in a heartfelt video posted on X. Nadal confirmed that his final event would be next month at the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga, where he will represent Spain one last time. “Hello everyone,” Nadal said in his announcement. “I’m here to let you know that I am retiring from professional tennis.” Reflecting on his struggles, he added, “The reality is that it has been some difficult years, these last two especially. I don’t think I have been able to play without limitations.”

Nadal previously expressed his wish for his son to pursue a sport other than tennis. However, little Rafael Jr.’s growing love for the game has been evident throughout the year. Naturally, many fans are expecting the Swiss legend to attend Nadal’s retirement at the Davis Cup in Malaga. However, Nadal’s recent comments have cast doubt on the Swiss maestro’s presence. During a recent interview, Nadal addressed the topic, saying, “I didn’t talk to Roger. I think Roger has busy schedule. By the way, of course that’s going to be my last week on the professional tour, but I don’t think going to be my last good-bye. So gonna be another chances to do something.”

While Federer’s attendance is still not confirmed, other tennis icons have already confirmed their plans to honor Nadal. Feliciano Lopez, the Davis Cup Finals tournament director, revealed that a special farewell event is in the works for Nadal. Novak Djokovic has said that he wants to be there. Also, Andy Murray wants to be there. Also, there are many more who want to be there and I don’t know if we are going to have seats for everyone,” he shared.
