Recently, the 52-year-old was involved in an interview with Croatian media. During the conversation, he talked about Nadal’s chances next season, while cautioning his rivals.

He said, “I am convinced Nadal’s level will be good, he would not be coming back if he did not feel ready, and I am confident that at Roland Garros he will be dangerous.”

Furthermore, he went on to add, “He will actually be more dangerous this year because nowhere has anyone been as dominant as Nadal at Roland Garros, and it is possible that, in the year of the Olympics, he will aim for the double crown in Paris.”

Nadal dismisses rumors surrounding his comeback

Earlier this month, Tennis Australia made a bizarre announcement. The tournament’s officials said that Nadal will be making a comeback at the 2024 Australian Open. However, this announcement came at a time when the Spaniard hadn’t confirmed his participation in the tournament.

Clearing the air around this announcement, Nadal said, “I had no idea they would say that. I was the first one to be surprised because I don’t even know myself [when I’ll return]. I understand and appreciate the hope of the Australian Open to have me there, my hope as well is to be there, but until this becomes a reality, there’s still a long way to go.
