The Serbian tennis star, Novak Djokovic, has stunned a plethora of tennis fans by delivering some incredible performances over the years. However, ever since the pandemic, ‘Djokernole’ has missed out on a lot of tournaments because of his vaccination stance. Notably, the 21-time singles Grand Slam champion’s visa was previously canceled when he touched down in Melbourne without being vaccinated.
Additionally, Djokovic received a lot of criticism from fans and also from some prominent figures as well. Notably, the Australian Politician, Daniel Andrews, previously raised concerns over Djokovic’s unvaccinated status. He further warned the Serbian tennis player to “get vaccinated.”

Daniel Andrews on Novak Djokovic as he gets an entry for the Australian Open
Novak Djokovic, with his unvaccinated status, was previously deported from Australia when he entered Melbourne to play in the Australian Open earlier this year. Following that incident, the Victorian premier, Daniel Andrews, slammed the Serb by stating that the Grand Slam tournament is “a lot bigger than any one person”. He further warned Djokovic to “get vaccinated” in order to participate in tournaments.
However, after the Australian government’s recent decision to lift Djokovic’s ban, Andrews has now retracted his previous comments. The Australian politician was featured in an interview where he expressed his views on the government’s decision to grant the Serbian tennis star entry. He answered by stating, “The Commonwealth government issues visas so it’s a matter for them. We don’t issue visas in Victoria.”
