Wimbledon‘s recently released promotional trailer has failed to impress a considerable amount of tennis fans across the world – especially those of 23-time grand slam champion Novak Djokovic. Djokovic fans are seemingly enraged with the extent of screen time given to the Serb in the promo video for the upcoming Wimbledon Championships. Many have cried foul play over the evanescent appearance of Novak Djokovic in the trailer, claiming it to be disrespectful towards the 7-time Wimbledon champion.

However, the ‘bad boy’ of tennis, Australian Nick Kyrgios seems to have no complaints against the under-fire Wimbledon promo.

28-year-old ATP ace Nick Kyrgios has made a name for himself for his blunt and outspoken nature, even if it means not being in the good books of fans and pundits. More often than not, his unapologetic and volatile character overshadows his achievements on the court. One more time, it seems, he has lived up to his controversial tag.

Wimbledon’s recently released one minute trailer, promoting its upcoming edition, has received a lot of flak from many tennis fans owing to its questionable allocation of screen time for certain tennis stars. However, Kyrgios doesn’t see anything wrong with the promo. In his recent Instagram story, the Australian shared the promotional trailer of Wimbledon, with the caption, “This pretty epic”.

As soon as the trailer dropped, fans started picking it apart because Novak Djokovic, one of the most successful Wimbledon players of all time, apparently wasn’t given enough priority in it. On the other hand, less accomplished tennis stars like Coco Gauff, Ons Jabeur and Nick Kyrgios seemed to have more screen time than the defending champion himself. Interestingly, Djokovic defeated Kyrgios in last year’s final to win his 7th Wimbledon title. Will the Serb do it again?

Can anyone stop the Novak Djokovic juggernaut at Wimbledon?

It seems that the 36-year-old Serb has found the secret ingredient of a renewed youthful exuberance. Djokovic created history by clinching grand slam number 23 at Roland Garros. And he doesn’t intend to stop anytime soon. With all the fuss regarding the Wimbledon trailer doing the rounds, Djokovic has his eyes set on winning his 5th Wimbledon title on the trot.

However, Nick Kyrgios will certainly have a few things to say about it. He reached the finals last year before falling to Djokovic, and will hope to do one better this time around. But with Djokovic fresh off his historic French Open triumph, it’ll definitely be a monumental task for the Aussie, to say the least.
