Recently, the former 13-ranked tennis player took a tour down memory lane and recalled the time when he met the 55-year-old American actor during the Australian Open. Along with that, he also dwelled on his fan-boy moment as he looked back on his amazing time with Smith.

Recently, the 2022 Wimbledon finalist appeared in a podcast interview with the Tennis Channel, where he talked about the actions going on in Turin. During that conversation, he also recalled an incident from the 2018 Australian Open that is still quite fresh in his mind. It was the time when the ‘King Richard’ actor came to support him during his third-round match against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
Kyrgios recalled, “I was super nervous. And then I saw him courtside and then I was like, I had to like, break the ice a little bit. I was like, “I think everyone is in the arena to see you here.” And then he smiled now like “Oh, I think he thinks I’m cool now.” And then I had an interview after the match, and it was cool. He was like, gave me a thumbs up.”
As the tournament took place in Melbourne, the popular American actor was seen cheering up for him as he made his way with a victory over his French opponent. However, after that, last year, the former 13th-seeded tennis player also echoed Will Smith’s sentiments on life and relationships while sharing a highly inspiring video on Instagram.

Last year, before the Australian Open, the 28-year-old tennis star shared an inspirational video on his Instagram. It was a clip from the American actor’s interview with life coach Jay Shetty. In the clip, Smith said, “You should never greet someone casually or say goodbye to someone casually. We can’t know if this is the last time we will ever see (them).”

Along with that, he wrote in the caption, “Be grateful for those around you. 🖤 2022 🏁.” While the Australian tennis star completely agreed with the things, the actor talked about in terms of showing commitment to family and handling relationships, he also displayed his support for the King Richard actor.
