It’s a year since Roger Federer took the retirement call to walk off from his tennis career. And since then, a lot of things have changed in his life. Starting from his family time to watching Wimbledon from the stands and his retirement routines. Recently, the 41-year-old Swiss tennis legend revealed his workout routine post-retirement, emphasizing the fact that everything has changed after retirement.
The Swiss Maestro’s unexpected retirement announcement was made due to persistent knee concerns that prevented him from playing tennis. But now that he has moved on from the most significant aspect of his life, he talked openly about his daily exercise routine while still trying to walk on his body.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion has an amazing fitness regime that keeps his body fit at the age of 41. Even though he might have retired from the court, the fit athlete inside him is still alive. Recently, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, the Swiss legend talked about his life after tennis and revealed how he focuses less on cardio and more on other workout activities.
He said, “I go straight to the gym. I?ve had quite a few knee issues, so I?m constantly rehabbing. I haven?t been able to do much cardio?mostly weights, core exercises, and exercises for my quad-strengthening. I have a physio I?ve been with for seven years, and we see each other four times a week. He does treatments, massages, stretching, and he also runs me through exercises.”?
Along with that, he also highlighted how, because of his knee problem, which he has been dealing with for the past few years, he is still not totally recovered. Even after a year of retirement, he is still recovering from this same health ailment, but in a little different manner, without doing the typical athletic workout routine.
While the former world number one’s training routine was quite different from when he was an active tennis player, now that his athletic career is not a part of his daily life, his workout routine has also shifted. Nevertheless, last year, when the Swiss tennis legend was working to get back on the tennis court, he shared a totally different outlook on his tough workout routine.

When Federer shared his tough workout routine?
The former tennis legend disclosed an incredible workout regimen last year to show off his recovery from knee surgery as he worked to get back in shape. He pushed himself hard at that time, showing off his quick feet during some speed work and a ladder drill.
He then went through a workout regimen where he was observed practicing on his forehand. The Swiss Maestro underwent his third knee surgery in 2021, and since then, has focused on regaining his ability to walk, run, and, eventually, play tennis. His plans to heal his knee, however, were derailed which resulted in his unexpected retirement.
