The calendar Grand Slam is an elusive achievement in tennis that has been pulled off by only five players in the sport’s history, as they won all four major championships in the same season. Back in 2021, Novak Djokovic was one match away from achieving this rare feat; however, he was defeated by Medvedev in the championship match of the US Open.

Notably, in the latest episode of the Tennis Channel podcast show, Chris Eubanks was singing the praises of his Serbian colleague on the tour. He said, “It’s so tough to say I still think that 2021 season was really, really incredible. I just felt like being one match away from that career slam or that calendar slam falling to Medvedev and the final.”
