A few days after clinching his 4th US Open title, the new world No. 1 is quickly back in business for national duties at a historic team event where he was welcomed by his former Spanish rival.

The tennis community is in a frenzy as the premier international team event on the ATP Tour is underway. Adding to their excitement, Novak Djokovic has arrived at the 111th edition of the Davis Cup right after concluding his phenomenal yet hectic US Open campaign. The 36-year-old has joined the Serbian team for the group stage of the historic team tennis tournament in Valencia.
It came to the public lens after the official Twitter account of Davis Cup shared a video clip of the Spanish tennis veteran and the tournament director, Feliciano Lopez welcoming the ‘Djoker’.
They also added a caption, “Tournament Director Feliciano Lopez welcoming the World No. 1 to the 2023 #DavisCup Finals Group Stage.”

Who else is playing for Serbia alongside Djokovic?
The 36-year-old has joined his compatriots, Miomir Kecmanovic, Victor Troicki, Dusan Lajovic, Laslo Djere, and Hamad Medjedovic in their quest for a second triumph at the prestigious international team tournament. Serbia, captained by Troicki in the Davis Cup, is in Group C with Spain, the Czech Republic, and the Republic of Korea.
Djokovic, who clinched two singles points for Serbia in 2010, helped his national team to mark their maiden triumph in the Davis Cup after overcoming France, 3–2.
