Frances Tiafoe had a memorable start to this year’s grass swing. He won a title in Stuttgart and entered the ATP Top 10 for the first time in his career. His form looked promising and the American was tipped to make a deep run at this year’s Wimbledon. However, things did not pan out well for the world number 10.
Tiafoe suffered a comprehensive defeat at the hands of Grigor Dimitrov at Wimbledon Round 3. The American only managed to win a total of seven games across three sets. When things do not go in your favor, frustration and emotions get the better of you. The same thing happened with Tiafoe in today’s encounter.

In the seventh game of the third set, when the match had slipped out of Big Foe’s hands, he lost control of himself. After missing a first serve, Tiafoe seemed to be frustrated with the crowd as he smacked a ball straight into the stands. He received a code violation for the ball use and plenty of boos and jeers from the crowd.

The margin of defeat was quite clearly embarrassing for Tiafoe, especially considering his current form. His slam results have been pretty underwhelming since his famous US Open 2022 run.

Tiafoe continues to struggle at the biggest stage
After stunning Rafael Nadal at the US Open, fans expected Frances Tiafoe to become a consistent player at the grand slams. However, he has not been able to live up to the tag, especially in the slams. The American has suffered three consecutive round 3 exits to players ranked lower than him in all the slams this year. Failing to make the second week of three consecutive majors is an ominous sign for the Big Foe.
