Hardly any tennis follower is unaware of the bond between Coldplay and Roger Federer. Remember when Federer ditched his comfort zone and rocked the stage with the British band? Ahead of the Paris Olympics, the band garnered a lot of attention for their surprising focus on tennis. The band’s official Instagram page began following 12 tennis players’ accounts on the platform. The 1997-founded rock band started following Iga Swiatek, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Matteo Berrettini, Casper Ruud, Paula Badosa, Aryna Sabalenka, Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin has already expressed his love for one famous tennis personality: Roger Federer. In July when the former Swiss tennis maestro attended the band’s Rome concert, Martin sang a few lines expressing the bond he shares with Federer. “Who’s that handsome guy? Roger, my beautiful brother, the greatest tennis player of all time. You were so good at sports, but who would think you would show up looking so beautiful and fine?” Martin sang when the camera zoomed on Federer’s face who blushed at the compliments.

Federer’s bond with Chris Martin was revealed when the former number one attended Coldplay’s Zurich concert last year. Not only did Federer attend the concert but also performed with the lead singer on stage. Federer’s gesture overwhelmed the fans as he revealed an unexplored side of the former ATP star. The Swiss former tennis maestro also extended his good wishes for Coldplay’s latest endeavors.
Roger Federer complimented Coldplay’s latest release
Coldplay is undoubtedly one of Federer’s favorite music bands and he has proven it many times. When the British band released their latest song Feels Like I’m Falling In Love, Federer complimented them but with an added touch of his eccentric humor. This album Moon Music was released in June and became quite popular.

The Swiss legend was also spotted grooving to the tunes of the song, which he shared on his social media. Federer not only sang the song but also jokingly commented about how he couldn’t attend the song rehearsal in the studio. “Hey Coldplay – sorry I didn’t make it to the studio to play shaker on our new single, but it still sounds pretty great,” he wrote on his social media platform.
Now that the band’s Instagram account has followed twelve tennis players recently, it means the British band might be eyeing their performance at the Paris Olympics. While they will not be present for the opening ceremony, will they close the games out on the final day?
