Describing the match as a spectacle, Gilbert highlighted the 3-2 game, where the intensity and quality of play reached extraordinary levels.

In a tweet, Gilbert expressed his shock at the sheer brilliance displayed by both players, particularly noting Djokovic’s remarkable save of a breakpoint at 30-40. He described the rally as “ridiculously great,” indicating the high-octane nature of their exchanges.

“There were 3/4 rallies at 3-2 that were ridiculously great, the BP save from Djoker at 30-40 simply off the charts deflating,” said Gilbert while lauding the incredible efforts made by the Serbian legend.

Thus, the efforts pulled by both players in the semi-finals were great. However, the Serbian, who played his level-best game went ahead and won the match and made it through to another final.

“If I don’t want to be humble and honest, I’m winning the tournament. If I want to be humble, I’m also winning the tournament,” said Novak Djokovic just before the start of the tournament.
