Eubanks continued, “That match put me into the top 100. I’ve never in my life felt emotional at the tennis court like I felt in that match.” Acknowledging much-needed support, Eubanks added, “Luckily I had a conversation with Frances Tiafoe in the locker room who asked me what are you thinking. Well, I’m down 5-2, Barrere serving may be I’d just look towards the breaker. He said don’t worry about the breakers you can win this match tonight, you can win it right now.”
Then the 6ft 7 inches player revealed more about why this match was very special to him. “I know I’ve won a title, I know I got to the quarters of Wimbledon. For some reason that match will always stay very special to me just because of the outpouring of emotions that I experienced afterwards.” said Chris Eubanks.

Chris Eubanks’ journey off the court
Christopher Eubanks almost took retirement during the pandemic. Eubanks once told his agent that if he finds himself yet again in 200 by next year and if injuries didn’t play a role in it, he’ll do something else with his time. Eubanks felt it was not that glamorous to rank around 200. He even started doing commentary for Tennis Channel and acted as Arthur Ashe’s double in the documentary ‘Citizen Ashe’ which was about the life of the American tennis legend.
