After his loss in the Roland Garros finals, Casper Ruud has been enjoying things other than tennis. He didn’t participate in the Queen’s Championship and Nottingham Open. Rather, he has been spending time playing golf and being with family and friends. And he also recently shared that he enjoys watching movies when he showed his admiration for the Whale movie directed by Darren Aronofsky. But more than any of these hobbies, his love for the Weeknd is known by the entire tennis fraternity. Now, it looks like his admiration for the singer might even motivate him to give his best at SW19!

He has, in the past, revealed that he only listens to a few artists. And especially Weeknd for his ‘beautiful’ voice. But the beautiful voice of Weeknd has cast such a spell on the Norwegian star that his heart will be throbbing for him even during Wimbledon.

Wimbledon is going to start on July 3 and will last until July 16. Though other players are single-mindedly focused on the tournament, Ruud has some extra plans too. While talking to Barbara Schett of Eurosport, Casper Ruud revealed how he plans to attend yet another concert of Weeknd that is scheduled in the second week of Wimbledon.

He said, “The thing is, he has two shows in the first weekend of Wimbledon. So, my motivation to do well is actually quite high, so I can catch a third show.”

But his love for Weeknd was taken as his disinterest in Wimbledon. Especially when he had earlier said that grass is for the golf. He clarified, referring to Wimbledon, “People probably think that I’m not taking it very seriously.” But his Wimbledon seriousness apart, Weeknd love is something that Ruud has passionately displayed in the past few weeks.

Ruud and his Weeknd mania

Ruud attended the Stockholm concert and then various twitter handles shared his dance moves. He visited Oslo too, chasing the “beautiful voice”.

But his love for the Weeknd is not limited to enjoyment alone. He wanted to really ensure that Weeknd is praised enough by the fans. On one Weeknd concert he shared these feelings in these words, “They have no idea how lucky they are to witness this live and they’re just standing there.I would scream so loud.”
