Ferrero has had a positive impact on Alcaraz’s career. They began their partnership in September 2018 when Alcaraz was only 15-years-old. Moreover, the former French Open champion has been responsible for Alcaraz’s all-round development, which is quite evident from the way he has performed this season. Recently, Ferrero opened up about why he started his foundation.
The coach of Carlos Alcaraz on the need for establishing a foundation
Earlier this week, Ferrero revealed the motive behind launching his foundation, in a conversation on the ATP Podcast. He said, “I found that I need to make something to help people to go through it and I created a foundation to try to help some of the people that don’t have much to fight against and is very much important for me to have it.”
Tennis players are no strangers to giving back to society through their foundations. Roger Federer, through his foundation, the Roger Federer Foundation, has spent approximately $13.5million to open 81 schools in Malawi. Additionally, other players like Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams have also done charity work through their foundations.
