Be it on the court or off it, Carlos Alcaraz has always got his game on point. With legendary players like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal now retired, the onus lies on young players like Alcaraz to take the sport forward. The 21-year-old hasn’t disappointed as he has gone on to become one of the most successful players of the next generation. The Spaniard has already raked up 4 Grand Slam wins and is looking hungry for more. However, even in his successes, Alcaraz has made sure to keep his feet grounded and was involved in a noble gesture earlier this week.
The former World Number 1 is training in his native country ahead of the start of the 2025 season. With the new year fast approaching, Alcaraz has intensified his training regime to get back in good shape. As a result, he was involved in a marathon session earlier this week which lasted over three hours.
With his popularity rising massively after his Grand Slam victories, Alcaraz has won over fans all over the world. Thus, when he practiced back in Spain, there were eager supporters waiting to greet him outside the practice courts, most of them being kids. After normal practice sessions, Alcaraz is happy to sign autographs for them. However, since he had a marathon session, Alcaraz had to rush to the changing room and couldn’t sign autographs for them. Nonetheless, he didn’t disappoint them as he gifted them the tennis balls that he used during the practice session. In addition, he also signed some autographs. Indeed, it was a kind gesture from him and he ensured that his young fans didn’t leave sad.

Moreover, this isn’t the first time that we have seen Alcaraz winning the hearts of his young fanbase. Earlier this year at the Cincinnati Open, many fans rushed to take his autograph after the match which led to some fans pushing young kids ahead of them. However, Alcaraz intervened and issued a safety message, “Guys there are kids. There are kids in front alright. Don’t push alright.”

Further, Alcaraz is gearing up for the 2025 season at his coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero’s academy. However, he has undertaken a major change in his training plans, as revealed by his coach.
Carlos Alcaraz won’t train with Jannik Sinner
Ahead of the start of the 2024 season, Alcaraz trained with Sinner at Ferrero’s academy in Spain. The two trained hard and eventually became two of the most successful players of the last season. However, there also developed a strong rivalry between them, which led to Ferrero making a rather hilarious admission during an interview earlier this month.

The legendary coach revealed that he won’t be inviting Sinner to practice with Alcaraz this time around, saying, “We won’t invite him here anymore… The year you win a Grand Slam is always a fantastic year. If you’ve won two… well, that’s impressive. Winning a Masters 1000 like Indian Wells or an ATP 500 like Beijing further enhances the season, but of course, you have the other beast (Sinner) who has won everything.”
It looks like the mind games have already started in Alcaraz’s camp as the 2025 season begins in a few days. Interestingly, Alcaraz will begin his campaign directly at the Australian Open next month and won’t feature in any of the warm-up tournaments in the lead-up to the first major of the 2025 season.
