Carlos Alcaraz recently inaugurated the Los Pies en la Tierra exhibition in Murcia, a heartfelt celebration of his journey and a nod to the importance of equal opportunities for children. The exhibition, running until February, offers a glimpse into Alcaraz’s life—his humble beginnings, his childhood, and the moments that shaped him into the player he is today.

As El Pais reported, a neighbor had pointed to the spot where Carlos first picked up a racket. He shared how Carlos Alcaraz and his elder brother Alvaro used to practice on a pelota court. However, the two brothers had very different motivations. The observer revealed, “One [Alvaro] had to be grabbed by the ear to bring him in, and the other had to be grabbed by the ear to get him out of here… He spent hours and hours in front of the wall,” He was always in the company of his older brother, Alvaro. That partnership still stands strong today, with Alvaro now a regular sparring partner and a crucial piece of Team Alcaraz.

The duo have come very far since then. After clinching his 2023 US Open title, Carlos choked up during his victory speech, sharing, “I have my brother here as well. It’s great to have you here, supporting me every day, making me a better person every day, learning from you as well, so thank you very much for being with me.”

Álvaro himself was no stranger to competitive tennis, having played doubles on the ATP circuit, with his last match dating back to February 2020. Though his days on the court have ended, Álvaro remains a constant in Carlos’s corner. The duo even watch movies to destress before a big game. Alcaraz had revealed to Murcia Plaza that they had watched the movie “300” before Carlos won a big match against Casper Ruud. He is a teammate on the court and off of it. Whether it’s traveling to tournaments or being a hitting partner, Álvaro is there for Carlos.

Carlos Alcaraz’s younger brother, Jaime Alcaraz, is also quietly crafting a story of his own. At just 13, Jaime has already tasted victory, clinching a Rafael Nadal Tour under-12 title in Madrid this year, dropping only two sets along the way. Sounds familiar, right? Seven years ago, Carlos pulled off a similar feat on the same tour, giving us a hint that tennis talent might just be a family heirloom.

Yet Carlos is quick to pump the brakes on the comparisons. “He’s getting to a really good level,” he says, “but honestly, there are a lot of people around, a lot of videos and accounts saying he’s going to be similar to his brother. I don’t really like that, you know?”
