2023 was the year streaming services realized the potential of tennis and dived into creating a bond with the sport. For starters, Netflix decided to create the docuseries, ‘Break Point’, which showed the behind-the-scenes of the lives of several players. They then created an exhibition event where Carlos Alcaraz played against Rafael Nadal.
Now, there is a buzz about another collaboration between Carlos Alcaraz and Netflix. The defending champion is in the Indian Wells Masters and reached the quarterfinals. Along with his win, the message he wrote on the camera as he walked out of the court also went on to raise the curiosity of fans around the world.
Alcaraz faced Fábián Marozsán in the round of 16 in the BNP Paribas Open. The bout did not prove to be too difficult for him as he would go on to shut the Dutch player down 6-3, 6-3, for a straight-sets victory. As he was walking out after the interview, Alcaraz wrote, “Tudum” on the camera, mimicking the sound of Netflix.
