Carlos Alcaraz ended his 2024 season after quite an impressive performance all year. He clinched four titles this year, including two Grand Slams at Wimbledon and Roland Garros! Although he did lose his No.2 ranking towards the end of the season to Alexander Zverev, he’s keeping his head high. Planning accordingly and looking forward to the 2025 season to take back his momentum. And he’s doing it the legend way.

In another exciting development, Novak Djokovic announced a partnership with Andy Murray for the upcoming Australian Open. This comes amidst ongoing speculation about Djokovic’s retirement plans. Which he confirmed he has no intention of stepping away from the sport anytime soon, choosing to continue competing and focusing on major titles. “Next year, I will play more tournaments, and the Grand Slams will be my priority. I will give my best to win, of course, if my body allows me,” Djokovic stated in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

As Carlos prepares for the future, he is currently engaged in two exhibition matches in the US. He’ll play at Madison Square Garden on December 4 against Ben Shelton and then he will face Frances Tiafoe in The Charlotte Invitational two days later. Revealing that he will start on December 9 after returning from the US and will focus on training until heading to Melbourne for the Australian Open. He plans to skip any tournaments before this major event, solely keeping his eye on the major titles going ahead.

Taking inspiration from Djokovic’s approach, Alcaraz will also participate in two charity exhibitions on January 8 and 10 at Rod Laver Arena, the central court at Melbourne Park. Alcaraz will be joined by a field of tennis luminaries, including ten-time champion Novak Djokovic, world No. 1 Jannik Sinner, Qinwen Zheng, Alex de Minaur, and Alexei Popyrin, in a series of exhibition matches from January 7th to 10th.

Although Alcaraz’s 2024 season ended abruptly with early exits at the ATP Finals and a disappointing first-round loss for Spain in the Davis Cup, Rick Macci believes in his potential for next year.
