Rising star Carlos Alcaraz has had a brilliant season in 2021. The 18-year-old defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas at the US Open 2021 and later emerged as the champion of the ATP Next Gen Finals 2021. Interestingly, even World No.1 Novak Djokovic praised him for his phenomenal performances on the court.

Carlos Alcaraz will be representing Spain for the first time at the Davis Cup Finals this year. It is a big moment for him since he is about to make his debut at the tournament at such a young age.

Carlos Alcaraz talks about his initial reaction after hearing praise from Novak Djokovic

In the latest edition of Players’ Voice, Alcaraz revealed how he reacted after Djokovic applauded him for his recent accomplishments. The Spaniard admitted that the Serbian’s encouraging words left him completely speechless, and he even thanked him later.

In the same talk show, Alcaraz highlighted that Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal are three of the best athletes in the history of tennis. He also stated that besides being sensational players, they are great people as well.

“In terms of comparisons to the Big Three, Nadal, Federer and Djokovic are great athletes – some of the best in our history – and they are also great people,” added the 18-year-old.
