Jannik Sinner‘s dominant run at Roland Garros is extending signs of his invincibility. The young Italian presented appreciable strength to make it to the semi-finals in the clay court major event. While his form was surrounded by dark clouds of a recent injury scare, Andy Roddick came forward to express wonders over his resilience.

Sinner currently finds himself out of the battle against Carlos Alcaraz, who has won a position in the finals. While he recently stepped out of a hip injury break, former pro Andy Roddick was taken by surprise. Besides the Italian, his rival Carlos Alcaraz also navigated through a difficult path as he had to skip almost half of the clay court season because of an injury in his forearm. All of these hardships and still both of them managed to keep their levels intact in the intense five-setter showdown.

“Something to acknowledge w Sinner struggling a bit. Both injured coming in. One w a forearm which means he can still get legwork in. Sinner game time decision coming into RG. Tough to imagine he was able to put in the normal legwork when dealing w a hip issue. Not all injuries act the same,” Roddick wrote in a recent post on X.

Although it was just the former American pro who came forward to shed light on this point, the facts lie bare as the tennis world is aware of the things that both of them had to go through. Sinner, who had to call off from his quarter-final showdown against Felix Auger Aliassime due to a hip injury, kept himself out for a while, missing the tournament in Rome.

Carlos Alcaraz, on the other side, skipped the clay court tournament in Rome because of an injury in his forearm. While everyone thought that the bandage on his arm was nothing but a precaution, he presented a big shock to the fans worldwide by calling off his participation at the Italian Open. Now that both of them battle against each other with complete determination, it is indeed a point to be focused on.

Carlos Alcaraz’s coach adds a layer of doubt before the semi-final clash

Despite the unbreakable form that Carlos Alcaraz presented throughout his run for the French Open title, there were doubts about his recovery status. While the Spaniard’s coach Juan Carlos Ferrero was recently exposed to the concerns about his recent struggles, he mentioned the post-scare of the forearm injury.

“I think that in the end an injury like that is never good. One because it has made it a little difficult for us to be able to play the entire clay season, which is always important for us,” Ferrero said in a recent interview. Along with that, he also mentioned the fact that there’s still a loophole in Alcaraz’s shots.

“And then, when it comes to hitting the right again with 100% confidence, today I would say it is at 95%. It is still difficult for him to finish hitting the right hand with that naturalness that he hit before because that injury to his arm always makes him pay attention to it a little bit,” he added.

Carlos Alcaraz is unveiling great levels of sportsmanship at Roland Garros. Despite his coach’s revelation of not being in full form, the Spaniard hits the court with unbeatable resilience, giving a test of his endurance.
