Even though World No.1 Novak Djokovic failed to win a medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, he is still on the verge of creating history. The Serbian Legend has already won there Grand Slam titles this year and will chase the Calendar Slam at the US Open 2021.
In a recent interview, Novak Djokovic’s arch rival, Rafael Nadal, commented on the possibility of the Serbian to accomplish the Calendar Slam this year. Rafa highlighted that if Nole can win three Slams, he has the potential of even winning the US Open 2021 title as well.
“He already won three. So when you won three, you can win four,” said Nadal in the interview.

Many experts believe that Rafa will be the biggest challenge for Djokovic in New York this year. The Spaniard enjoys enough topspin on the surface which helps him to succeed there. Interestingly, he has won four US Open titles to date.

Novak Djokovic v Rafael Nadal at the US Open
Djokovic and Nadal have won crossed their paths at the US Open three times in their career so far. Intriguingly, it is Rafa who leads the head-to-head battle 2-1 there.
They first met at the US Open 2010 finals which was also their first face-off in a Grand Slam final. It was the Spaniard who emerged as the winner of this contest as he defeated Djokovic in four sets to clinch his first-ever US Open title.

They next encountered in the finals of the US Open 2011 finals where Djokovic took his revenge. He thrashed Rafa in four sets and won his maiden US Open title. Their last meeting came at the US Open 2013 finals where Rafa yet again showed some fantastic gameplay and won his second US Open title.
Novak Djokovic can become the second male player after Rod Laver in the Open Era to win all the four Slams in a year if he succeeds in New York. Fans still have huge expectations from him. Will he be able to end his career with the most number of Grand Slam titles?
