Roger Federer can speak Swiss German, English, German and French. However, Spanish is not his forte. And that was visible from one of his old interviews where the player just could not curb himself from bursting out with laughter, every time the interviewer started speaking in Spanish.

When Roger Federer tried to hold back his laughter

The interview dates back to 2009 when Federer was visiting Zurich for an endorsement. At that time, CNN reporter Pedro Pinto took his interview in English. In the end, he needed to ask him some questions in Spanish for a CNN Espanol program.

He informed Federer about it and started to ask his question. The interviewer had just started to speak in French when Federer burst out in a fit of laughter and this made everybody else laugh too.

The Swiss Maestro said, “This is tough, I tell you” while laughing. They tried again and the same thing happened.

Federer even tried to look behind the reporter to distract himself but that didn’t work either. He asked, “Can I shut my eyes?” and tried that.

But this time he laughed even before the interview started. Eventually, he took a break. He said, “So we quickly stand up and come back down. Let’s try do that.”

Meanwhile, the interviewer was asking questions on his own so that could be recorded for the program but that made everyone laugh once again.

Federer will be back in action at the Laver Cup

One could not believe that it’s the same Roger Federer who stays completely composed in front of a huge crowd and plays five-hour-long matches. However, the Swiss Maestro has been away from action because of a knee injury sustained during last year’s Wimbledon Championships.
