During the ongoing Cincinnati Open, Novak Djokovic has once again made headlines for his thumping victory against Gael Monfils. After his return to US soil, Djokovic has so far made it look easy, lately defeating the former world No. 6 in straight sets (6-3,6-2), to book a place in the quarterfinal round.
In the process of outclassing his French opponent in the ATP Masters 1000 event, the ‘Djoker’ has now incredibly taken his head-to-head record against Monfils to 19-0. Taking heed, the American tennis legend, Andy Roddick is also left quite astounded as he recently opened up about the same. However, in order to convey his amazement, the former tennis ace made a hilarious “drinking” joke about their massively one-sided H2H record.

The ATP players’ round of 16 of the hard court event in Ohio, the Cincinnati Open, marked their 19th meeting in the men’s circuit. But, the former world No. 1 player’s remarkable prowess has kept the French tennis star away from tasting any success in their fierce encounters on the court. Astounded by their current 19-0 H2H record, Andy Roddick said “I don’t know those are numbers,” in his recent interview with the Tennis Channel.
While emphasizing the magnitude of the Serb’s record, the former tennis player also cracked a hilarious joke. He said, “I mean, Novak’s record against Gael Monfils’ can almost legally drink in this country. So listen, jokes aside, it’s no fault of Monfils’. It was clinical tonight from Novak.”

Roddick made it clear that he is absolutely taken aback by the Serbian tennis star’s incredible skills, which have often been on display for the past few seasons. The 40-year-old tennis legend went on to sing praise for Djokovic as he asserted, “He makes it look way easier than it actually is, like he struck the ball, beautifully tonight.”

After his clay court major triumph this season, the Serb has already surpassed the Spaniard, Rafael Nadal in the Grand Slam tally. Now, Djokovic, with his recent Cincinnati Open victory, has once again pulled off the most one-sided H2H feat in the men’s circuit.
Prior to this, the currently ranked world No. 2 was tied with the ‘King of the Clay,’ who also had 18 consecutive wins record against the Frenchman, Richard Gasquet. Unsurprisingly, another prominent figure from the ‘Big 3,’ Roger Federer is at the third spot of the list, given his 17-0 H2H against the Spaniard, David Ferrer.
