The decision comes as an expected one, considering Djokovic’s stance against the COVID-19 vaccine. “Per the Grand Slam Rule Book, all eligible players are automatically entered into the men’s and women’s singles main draw fields based on ranking 42 days prior to the first Monday of the event. The US Open is not the only tournament that has banned Novak Djokovic. The 21-time Grand Slam winner was recently banned from the Rogers Cup. Similarly, all other tournaments in US and Canada are also expected to announce the ban soon.
